(4) Police Report
Cheryl in contact with local officer Graffiti cleared in underpass. Motor bikes and quads being driven dangerously have been confiscated including some driven off road in Llysfaen area and Abergele Road. Youths acting in an unruly manner near the pods at St David’s Road dealt with. Vehicles parking opposite ‘Bobbies’ in Cefn Road blocking the disabled drop pavements. Cars parking continuously on pavement opposite Queen’s Court, Abergele Road leave insufficient room for prams and disabled vehicles. Vehicles parking continuously on pavement near post office. Cheryl urged residents to keep her informed of similar matters wardens rarely seen in Old Colwyn.
(5) Treasurer’s Report
Chairman pointed out that we no longer have responsibility for our War Memorial. The association holds £313.30p to which has to be added last week’s collection. Defibrillator £679.36p. Graffiti project £2,320.00p Remembrance Day £500.00p thanks to Town Council grant obtained by Brian towards a special service to mark the 100th anniversary of our war memorial. The plaque in memory of Bob Barton and the Town Councillors who enable the defibrillators is now in place at Sure Hope Church. Cost £258.50p. It is hoped that we can arrange a small unveiling ceremony in due course.

No further information to date.
(7) Minafon Flats
No further news but still under observation.
(8) Speed Cameras
A long discussion here debating the likely cost of signage, pollution by vehicles driven in low gear with the proposed 20mph limit. It was observed that many cyclists could exceed the new limits. In respect of signage costs etc., it should be known that estimates include the likely benefits of fewer accidents with the concomitant saving. In medical care and damage to property.
It was reported that the camera in Abergele Road above Queen’s Court didn’t always work. Residents’ views are likely to be subjective according to where they live. 20mph in my street, but not the road I use most days for work.
(10) Graffiti Project
Cheryl and Carl have worked together and now have several youngsters willing to contribute to the graffiti at Queen’s Road tunnel.
(11) Solar Lights Wynne Gardens
7/8 possible locations have been located. Further developments to be reported.
(12) Summer Fair & Christmas Market
Trudy told us that after the successful summer fair they would go ahead with the Christmas market at the same location with stalls inside and outside TAPE premises. Trudy and all who contributed so much to these events were to be commended for their work. Meeting tomorrow 2.8.23 at TAPE.
(13) Min y Don Park Upgrade
Benches have been uprooted from their bases apparently to place them in a circle so youngsters could chat together. Meeting next week re upgrading etc.
(14) Road Condition Coed Coch Rd. etc.:
Coed Coach Road will now be repaired after persistent pressure from Cheryl.

(16) Drain St. John’s Close
This needs urgent attention after the recent heavy rains. It was noted that drains were not cleaned out as they used to be.
(17) Hedge Opposite Marine Hotel
Needs attention. This is difficult as the house is empty and the owners have responsibility to keep their hedge cut.

(a) Road Signage
Noted that the yellow road signage denoting road works are left in place along after the repairs are completed causing drivers to make unnecessary diversions. Cadwgan Road and Wynn Ave. Notable examples. Secretary to contact Council.
(b) Bin Collection
Member reported his bin hadn’t been collected on 26.7.23
(c) Missing Bench
Member asked where the bench situated in Station Road had gone. Cheryl told us it had been damaged and the cost of replacement would be too much at £800 to £1,000.
(d) Artificial Turf
Members questioned the cost at £700,000p for the placing of false grass on the football pitch in the town. Did the proposal go through the required scrutiny that such a sum demands?
(e) Council Offices Occupancy
Council building at Coed Pella Road still only 25% occupied.
(f) Imperial Hotel Future
It is believed that the Imperial Building at Colwyn Bay would become flats.
