Glenys Baker, Chris Turner, Carol Poynton, Gwyn Jones
(3) Secretary’s Report
Referred to previous reports to the Association concerning building plots with foundations laid for excessive periods without building work commencing. They are overgrown, tend to become rubbish dumping grounds and exacerbate the chronic house shortage. He had written to David Jones MP and Darren Millar AM asking their opinion and hoped for this Association’s support. Those present approved his action. Future correspondence would be under the auspices of the Association.
(4) Treasurer’s Report
£225.75p in hand for the Association, £678.22p for the “No Messing” campaign, and £59500 for the War Memorial project.

(6) Minutes of 8th August 2018 Meeting
(a) No Messing
Lianne gave her report: Cameras placed at cycle path, promenade, Min y Don Avenue, & Coed Coch Road, resulting in one fine. Fouling on play area near Ysgol T. Gwynn Jones. Cameras cannot be used on enclosed land. Rubbish at zig zag path cleared up. Reported that there is still rubbish left after careless bin collections. Low life attempting to remove cameras and they are being vandalised. Please keep your eyes open. They are public (YOUR) property and expensive.
There is still no news if the County Council Cabinet will decide that camera footage may be posted on digital media.
(b) Pier/Prom
Hole on promenade is Water Board responsibility. Fence removed, footpath cleaned near pier site. Insurance require 9 remaining stumps to be fenced off. Steps at Tan y Lan to beach will be completed by Network Rail this year, thanks to the intervention of David Jones MP. Please see previous reports on our site. Meeting informed that David had been thanked by Secretary for his sterling efforts on our behalf.
(c) B.I.D.
Chairman and some Committee Members met with Cheryl Williams, the B.I.D. organizer prior to this meeting. Much work is being done for the Christmas Market with weekly meetings at the Marine, each Monday at 6:00pm. Co-op Cefn Rd hoping to donate £500.00 subject to approval by their H.Q. Budget re B.I.D. £45,000.00 over 3 years and Colwyn needs to get its share. Businesses under £6,000 don’t pay rates, but are levied by B.I.D. In spite of wide publicity, there is apathy shown by some business people, and in some cases hostility towards Cheryl. This is why the Board takes unilateral decisions to commence work on projects. A few business people were present this evening, and a positive spirit of cooperation ensued between them, organizers of the Christmas Market and Cheryl. There is scope for much to be achieved with good will and cooperation. Chairman agreed to enquire at Chemist, a central point, re possible installation of a defibrillator. Christmas Market to be on 15th/16th December 2018.

Fund raising was continuing from several sources, and it was hoped that we would reach our target before 4th November 2018. There is a site on “Just Giving” and all are urged to visit. It was also hoped to renew the plaque commemorating the Colwyn man lost in the Falkland conflict.
